Ms. Lara’s students Josh Cho won a gold key (1st place and highest honor) and Jacob Alt won a silver key (2nd place high honors) for the central California regional scholastic awards in photography. There were over 25 counties in California that are part of this region, including the entire Bay Area and beyond with hundreds of submissions. Josh Cho will automatically be considered for a National Scholastic metal awards. His work will also be exhibited at the Pacific Grove Art center alongside the other gold key winners in 29 other categories. The opening and awards ceremony will be in March, more details to come.

“After many months of hard work, of editing and revising, and of crossing fingers, the time to find out whether a work has received a Gold Key has finally arrived! Students across the country and around the globe spent hours making their creations, and it was our privilege to view and read them all. So, without further ado, here are the 2019 Gold Key recipients!
