Community Service
Beginning with the senior class of 2025, all students must complete at least 48 hours of community service in order to graduate. If a student earns 200 hours or more, they will be eligible for a special-recognition cord at graduation. Students are strongly encouraged to complete 12 hours of service per year to stay on track for off-campus privileges and the senior trip.
Juniors must start the school year with at least 24 hours of service completed in order to earn off-campus privileges during lunchtime.
Seniors must start the school year with at least 36 hours of service completed in order to earn off-campus privileges during lunchtime, and must have all 48 hours completed by February to be eligible for the Senior Trip.
Incoming Freshmen can submit any service hours completed during the summer prior to their freshman year at PGHS, but cannot include hours served during their active 8th Grade year or earlier.
Transfer students cannot “roll over” service hours completed at prior schools when entering PGHS, but will instead be awarded automatic credit hours equal to the years missed at PGHS (an incoming sophomore transfer student will receive 12 free hours; an incoming junior will receive 24 hours; an incoming senior will receive 36 hours).
